Typically HTTP-based authentication will be done within a couple of minutes. If you think the validation is taking too long, please make sure your auth file is accessible directly without any HTTP 301 or 302 redirects.
If you are using HTTP-auth for a wildcard certificate, the HTTP-Auth file must be accessible directly at http://domain.com/<authfile>.htm. A redirect to http://www.domain.com/<authfile>.htm will NOT work. If you can't resolve the issues, please contact the InterSSL support team.
There is no need to initiate the HTTP verification. The certificate authority (CA) will check the AUTH file repeatedly with increasing time intervals. In other words, if the system does not see the file right away during the initial check, it will perform the lookup 10 minutes after. If next lookup fails to find the file, it will be repeated 20 minutes after, 40 minutes, 80, 160, 320, 640, 1280 and every 1440 (1 day) after that.
Please disable Firewall Plugins like "All In One WP Security & Firewall" because these may block the HTTP requests from COMODO. Apache "mod_security" might also cause problems, kindly disable it temporarily until your certificate has been validated.
